The EBM in the Central African Republic

The EBM’s first informal contact with the Union Fraternelle des Eglises Baptistes (UFEB) in the Central African Republic was in 1976, which then led to the official membership of the UFEB in the EBM in 1984. In 1985, the first European EBM missionaries were sent to the Central African Republic. The EBM’s tasks included support of the UFEB in the areas of schools and training, particularly however the women’s training project “Maison Dorcas.”

Furthermore, basic health services and the promotion of congregation work, including theological training and the work with pygmies, were also part of this effort. Today, the couple Annabeth and Markus Maag (Switzerland) work in the Central African Republic. The EBM has supported this work with € 120,000 per year in funds.
