Serango Christian Hospital

While the operating costs of this hospital in the Indian state of Orissa are covered by its own income and other partnerships, INDIENHILFE (INDIA AID) has contributed substantially to the improvement of the equipment through capital investments since 1992. The last major acquisition was an ambulance in 2008. In the nineties, four new building projects were financed (kitchen, 16-bed dormitory, A&E department and operating wing).

The general hospital now has over 65 beds and primarily caters to the Adivasi, the original inhabitants of India. The general hospital includes an eye hospital with another 40 beds that is approx. 40 km away, in Ranipeta.

Beyond the medical support of the local population, there is a close collaboration with the surrounding Adivasi Baptist congregations.
