Help for Sierra Leone: primary and secondary schools

The Baptist Convention Sierra Leone (BCSL) shows its commitment in the area of primary schools and through secondary schools in connection with the local Baptist congregations. Education actively fights poverty and gives girls and boys prospects in life. Especially after the devastating civil war, the need for a school education in Sierra Leone is very great. Many children learn reading, writing and math in the primary schools of the “Baptist Convention Sierra Leone” (BCSL). The local congregations support countless primary schools, provide the Sunday school rooms for this purpose during the week, while the pastors work as teachers. In addition to the existing primary schools in Freetown, we have founded primary schools in Gbomlimba, Kassirie and Bo during recent years. Furthermore, the congregations are responsible for the secondary schools in Mambolo, Gbendembu, Kassirie, Makama and Freetown. These schools are officially recognised by the government and ensure a qualified education. Many leading figures in the country, doctors, officials, police officers have received their school education there. Children and young adults receive a school education, and thus many people enjoy better prospects in life. Please help us in this effort!
