Many of you know about Project Diadema in Brazil which was founded by EBM MASA already. Just in case you don’t – let me tell you about it again.

It’s a project where children and young people are taken care of at Diadema Núcleo Social Centre, Brazil. As of today we look after 250 children and teenagers during the day. They are given a chance to learn good values & obtain structure in life.

The Social Centre has taken on the task, to protect vulnerable children and give them:

•  a new perspective in life
• promote physical development through healthy food and adequate hygiene
• school tutoring to prevent an early school exit
• social support for the whole family and participation in various courses
• avoid child labour, drug use and sexual exploitation
• play, culture, art and sports

The development and support of children, teens, their social standing and the vocational training are components of the official program.

These children are lovingly cared for at the Social Centre. However there are many challenges.

Drug trafficking in the immediate vicinity of the Social Centre has risen in recent years. Most children have drug-addicted relatives, have contact with drugs, can easily access them and are often encouraged to support or even join the drug trade.

The children's programs in the Social Centre are very expensive and fundraising essential. This Social Centre is one of the few social institutions in the area, which meets the demands of the city administration for the care of children and youth justice.  

In addition to the 250 children, we support an additional 300 teenagers and their families to help them manage their lives. The children get the chance to participate in different programs, such as life coaching, vocational training, computer & science education.

Nevertheless, it is always challenging to obtain sufficient funds to support this project. And therefore I’d like to encourage you to support the project with your financial contribution to help this great cause.

Every Euro raised will be used for this project and will make a big difference and support the lives of these children and their families.
