Missionaries

We at EBM INTERNATIONAL do work in five Latin American and seven African countries as well as India. In our partner countries, we need not only financial, but also professional help from well trained European men and women who can direct, educate and improve the qualifications of our local employees. In this way our European staff assumes an important bridging function in the areas of mission and development.

Living the calling, but how…?

It is important to us that our colleagues and missionaries have the freedom to live their calling.

Therefore…

  • they receive an appropriate, fixed salary from the EBM, which is co-financed by the supporting congregations of our union and is based on the guidelines for pastor salaries;
  • we handle all the travel and accommodation costs so that our missionaries can perform their service. This includes medical preparation and treatment, depending on the country of service;
  • we finance the costs that are incurred by the mission work, e.g. providing an office, a car, the technical equipment, travel costs or work material and the related regular expenses;
  • we also assume the financial responsibility for the school education of the missionary children, for whom the EBM makes regular payments to the correspondence school or schools on site;
  • every two years the missionaries can return home for a while  and we also assume the costs for congregation visits, conferences and meetings, as well as for continuing education courses;
  • we also support the projects in which our employees are involved.

Missionaries depend on your support!

The EBM depends on your support for the services of the missionaries. This is possible in many ways: You can help cover their salary, the working costs or travel costs. Our missionaries also need personal and spiritual support. They need our intercession and enjoy emails and letters from back home.

The mission has many faces

We at the European Baptist Mission, with 26 member unions, work globally in five Latin American and seven African countries, as well as India. In our partner countries, we need not only financial, but also professional help from well trained European men and women who can direct, educate and improve the qualifications of our local employees. In this way, European staff is involved in important tasks in the area of evangelisation and founding congregations, education and training, as well as in social welfare work and the medical area. Missionaries give the mission a face. They depend on our support: The mission is only possible thanks to our interest in Europe, our prayers, but also our donations.
