House of Joy and House of Hope

In 1994 INDIENHILFE (INDIA AID) became the supporting organisation for these children's homes with 25 children at that time. After some structural expansions, 55 “Adivasi” school-aged boys live here now. Some of these children were forced to do child labour because they were left entirely on their own or had to contribute to the family's income.

The homes are run by the local YMCA in Salur, that is, here too attention is paid not only to the boys’  physical and spiritual welfare along with their school education, but also to a Christian upbringing.

The facilities and the furnishings are very confined and modest. But the official and voluntary employees show great commitment with tremendous care for the boys, who feel very good there for this reason.
