Asha Kiran Children’s Home

Children´s home India aid

“Asha Kiran” means “ray of joy.” This children’s home with 82 children is the largest home financed by INDIENHILFE (INDIA AID) and represents only one of the various fields of work handled by the organisation Bridge of Hope, which was founded in 1990. The majority of the residents are girls (approx. two-thirds) whose every need is supported attentively and lovingly, whether this is in the home's operations itself or their homework or in the leisure time. The direct connection to the Baptist congregation, which is located on the same campus, also ensures spiritual development.

The children normally stay in the home until they finish their school education. If they receive a college education thereafter, they can continue to remain in the children’s home. Moreover, some home children have the opportunity to receive job training in Bridge of Hope’s adjacent vocational training centre and to live in the accommodations there.  This ensures that they will one day be well equipped to leave and lead an independent life.
