Emergency meal programme

High inflation, very low or irregular wages and high costs of living make it hard for families to live on their income. They suffer from hunger and sooner or later from the consequences of undernourishment or malnourishment.

Orphans and half-orphans are also affected and suffer in particular from the hardship. Likewise, this affects children from socially disadvantaged families as well as older people, the sick or those in need of care, who hardly have the means to care for themselves.

EBM INDIA supports feeding the poor in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and Nellore. Here, poor people are regularly given the most needed food.  For them, it is the only meal that they receive during the day. People stand in lines to receive the food. Careful records are kept of the people or families that participate in the meals for the poor so that some do not benefit multiple times while others go away empty-handed. Especially in the megacities, these meals for the poor are only a drop in the bucket, since there are thousands of people living homeless on the streets there.  With the donations, our partners (Salvation Army and Abundant Life) buy the food that is then prepared by their employees.

Many thanks for your support!
