In Ijuí, many children are exposed to the drug scene and other risks. Their parents have to work to make a living and cannot take care of them. So they are left on their own and spend their time in the streets. They cannot be admitted to the “Henrique Liebich” children’s home because they live with their families.

How can the children of these impoverished families in Ijuí be reached?

It has been possible to launch a new project in a house of the children’s home in Ijuí which was restructured for this purpose. At the moment, more than 30 children are taken care of. These children are the neediest of the needy. The get wholesome food twice a day, homework tutoring, and psychological care. They are taught music, handicrafts and hear Bible stories; they can play and do sports.

Some parents of these children have tears in their eyes when they talk about having found people who are ready to support them and to help their children. Many of them regularly attend the services of the mission church in Ijuí.
