In 1993 INDIENHILFE (INDIA AID) supported this project of our partner Bridge of Hope for the first time and has expanded it through investments in the meantime. Now, 60 families have found a new home in this leper colony.

The financial support is mainly limited to medical care for the lepers and for their meals, since primarily their old age makes them no longer capable of providing for themselves. This limitation is very important because no dependencies should be created through the financial support and we want to leave the main responsibility for the lepers with their own families.

At Christmas, a large celebratory feast traditionally takes place every year with the distribution of presents, too. Such presents mean even more to people living in poverty.
