For the training centre of the Baptist supporting organisation Bridge of Hope, a two-storey building with training rooms and accommodation facilities was built in 2004 and another in 2005/06 on the congregation campus in Gotlam.

In the meantime, 18 young men and 22 young women are trained there. The training for young men prepares them to be welders, pipelayers, electricians, motorcycle mechanics and drivers. Furthermore, basic computer knowledge is provided. The girls are mainly trained to work as seamstresses or in household management with a focus on nutrition. Some also attend computer courses.

The gratifying part is that some of the boys and girls from the adjacent children’s home “Asha Kiran” switch to the training centre after the completion of their general school education. With the recognised diplomas they have very good prospects in the labour market and thus for living an independent life in dignity.
