Primary schools in Dagai and Gamboura

Something that is a great privilege in Africa is often considered an annoying obligation in Europe: regularly attending school. To give the greatest possible number of children and young adults the opportunity to attend school and thus a chance to have a dignified life, the EBM has advocated the development and expansion of educational institutions.

Beside the classical subjects, children and young adults also receive lessons in the areas of agriculture and handicraft. Almost 200 children go to the primary school in Dagaï/ Diamare, where over 80% of them pass their final examinations each year. In Gamboura/Mayo Tsanaga are 250 pupils and four of five passed their tests.

The resources in the schools are very simple. The teachers require additional pedagogical qualifications. To ensure the continuation of this work, the parents are also encouraged  to assume more responsibility.
