“El Buen Pastor” is the name of the school, which is located on the property of the church of the Baptist congregation in the capital and on the island of Malabo: a preschool, an primary school and a secondary school. More than 700 pupils from the ages of 4 to 20, from various social classes, attend the school. The school “Buen Pastor” provides a holistic education. They also take account of the pupils’ social, intellectual, physical, emotional and spiritual needs. In addition to the school day, there are activities such as cultural weeks, lectures, practical work in small groups, a youth newspaper and also a music and theatre group.

There is however a great lack of teaching material such as textbooks and exercise books or computers. Furthermore, the toilettes must be renovated and the school furniture must be renewed. Some pupils require support for the school fees.

The EBM is involved in Buen Pastor via the cooperation of the Spanish missionary couple Julio Cháfer and Damaris Juárez.
