General hospital for individual aid
Social fund for impoverished patients
Vuyyuru, Andhra Pradesh
The CBM Bethel Hospital was founded in 1906 by Canadian Baptists. It is one of the oldest hospitals in the Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh. The involvement of INDIENHILFE began there in 1980: During the development years, it financed the eye work there in full.
Since 1996, general medical work has also been financially supported here by systematic material investments. The building of an operating wing was financed as the first material investment. In 1997, a high-performing generator was purchased for the entire facility. In the following years, an anaesthetic machine was added and an x-ray machine was also upgraded.
Since 2002, a social fund has provided the financing every year to support services for impoverished patients. Recently, in 2009, there were 97 patients who were able to get a costly treatment despite their lack of financial resources.
